About me
I have recently taken on the role of Public Engagement and Outreach Manager at the ICG, University of Portsmouth, while Jen Gupta is on maternity leave. Before moving to the ICG I was the Engagement Officer at the School of Physical Sciences, University of Kent. I’ll be using my skills and experience of working with schools and community groups, managing outreach projects in different subject disciplines (Physics, Astrophysics, Chemistry and Forensics Science!) to ensure that the Tactile Universe is a success. I’ll also be taking over from Jen as the PI of the STFC Nucleus Award and will be making sure the team delivers what was promised!
From the outside looking in
It’s been wonderful to see the Tactile Universe progress from initial ideas to receiving STFC Nucleus funding so that it can be launched nationally. I am incredibly excited to able to work with the other team members to make the Tactile Universe a success. I’ll be spending a lot of my time designing and refining the training sessions we’ll be providing to other science communication professionals, establishing best practice.
